Panel Discussion: Journalism—Social Justice and Social Media

Journalist Desmond Cole and a panel of community members will explore the impact and influence of all forms of media on Black lives and Black communities, discussing how to define portrayal and enliven the phrase #wewilltellourtruths.

Panelists include: Sandra Hannebohm, a journalist with The Signal at University of King’s College; Vanessa Fells, a Public Programming and Outreach Coordinator with the Black Loyalist Heritage Society; El Jones, the Nancy’s Chair in Women’s Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University, poet, and community activist; and Babatunde Balogun, a journalism student at University of King’s College.
