Roloff Beny Scholarship Exhibition
“A380” offers a photographic record of a two-month stay in and around the 19th arrondissement of Paris, France over the Fall of 2017. This exhibition is a series of large format prints from 35mm film scans that begin to expose the artist’s first experience of Paris after a lifetime of vicarious experiences under the influence of France’s cultural imperialism made possible by a public and post-secondary education in french language and culture. With focused intuition and practised experimentation, the iconic city and its historically pervasive culture is challenged and reimagined through a documentary lens and a surrealist filter
